Hi Greg - Chuck

January 18, 2001

Hi Greg. Are there any pictures of me? Lisa

January 18, 2001

Hi Greg. I love the Meet the Hostesses page. It’s the best part of the website. The pictures of Rhonda, Cathy and Ellie, Jeri and Jacob, and Cami and Lindsay are darling. The responses are nice too. I agree with you Mitra that Greg is thorough.

Lisa Postles

January 18, 2001

Nice site Greg. Shouldn’t there be more pictures of the hostesses?

Hi Greg, Love your website. You have a lot of nice features. It’s fun to browse through all the sites. It sounds like you have a lot of fun with your golf outings. I will be watching the site for more updates. Keep up the good work. Barb Truchon

Greg, you are unbelievable! We are trying to get our report cards done, and you are providing such a diversion! Thanks for lightening up our day! Rita Helmeid

January 29, 2001

Greg, Mitra and I have just looked at the website and we think it’s terrific. I especially like the hostesses page and especially that cute bio on Mitra (my daughter) she just said “hey I wrote it”. Overall, it looks great, don’t have time to go through all the links yet, but maybe someday!

Shelly

January 30, 2001

Greg, good start on your web site. Easy to read and follow. But I wonder if there isn’t a typo at the MOUNDS link “....overlooking a fiver” shouldn’t it be a RIVER? If you get the Sundance Channel...February 1 is a show called Conversations in Cinema: ED HARRIS. (Or something like that) It’s on at 8 or so EST. We don’t get the sundance channel. If you do, and you remember could you please tape it for us? Thanks, Dianne PS I did know Meg was operated on. Thanks for the report on her good intact humour.

January 30, 2001

Hi Greg, The Website is great - especially the pictures of me! I’m really looking forward to getting movie reviews from someone as insightful as yourself. It’ll be nice to have an alternative to Ebert-Roeper.com

Jim Schulz

January 30, 2001

Hi Lisa, I see there is a link for your book recommendations. I’m actually in need of a recommendation right now. I just finished the Tom Wolfe book Karen gave me for Christmas (thumbs down, by the way), and my library didn’t have a copy of the Manchester biography of Winston Churchill (sp?). God knows I’m too cheap to actually buy a book!

Hi Greg and Lisa! It was nice talking to you today, Greg. We’ll have to update my photo in about a month due to my purchase of a 2001 H-D FXDL Dyna Low Rider (color: Jade Sunglo)!!! I’ll be sure to take a digital picture of it when I pick it up so it can be added to this Web site!

The site is looking great ... I’m going to spend more time looking at it next week at work since our internet connection there is much faster (I’m spoiled there).

Tania, you are so adorable!! How come we never see each other (it’s my fault, isn’t it?!)? My love to Bogie (the little man in a cat suit) and Mr. T!!

Take care, everyone! Hostess Jackie O., a.k.a. official golf tournament print (not Web) graphic designer and Hardcore Harley Chick!

February 16, 2001

Dear Greg & Lisa, I have examined the site thoroughly and located what I was after --- photos of Greg, Pat Curie and Toby Peterson. To your credit guys, I recognised each of you and was thrilled to see that none of you has grown fat, bald or a moustache! (You’ll be pleased to hear that neither have I). In fact, you all look great. Also, tried to figure out which of the ladies was Lisa, the one with short hair or the one with pink hair?

I really admire your efforts in hosting this tournament every year. One year, perhaps, the invitation will reach me BEFORE the event! And I sincerely thank you, Greg, for staying in touch. Betsy (Egner) Milligan p.s. I was so pleased to be able to show my daughter a picture of the guy who was able to close his mouth around a tennis ball

February 16, 2001

Hi Greg, I decided to take a little time and browse your site. I really like the links. It saves me alot of time. I really enjoy visiting your site. Great movie info. I like Lisa’s book recommendation. My kind of lady. Barb T

February 18, 2001

Greg and Lisa, Just got finished browsing your site. What fun, I love it. I truly enjoyed looking at the pics I found toby, pat currie and of course you greg and can’t decide who is the most handsome. Also, I finally got to see Lisa,(short hair, cute and energetic looking one right?) Anyways, the site is awesome and I have it plugged into my favorites. I’ll enjoy checking it. thanks for your time and talent. Love mary jo

What a hoot! I have one question: Is it a criterion that to be a hostess you have to have a name that consists of two syllables and ends in a vowel? I might fit that criterion! Casey

February 21, 2001

Greg, thanks for discussing with me the possibility of adding “Golf Tournament Hosts.” Oh, don’t get me wrong, the hostesses are very nice, sweet and pretty, but what about some “eye candy” for the ladies? Do you think you could get Brenden Fraser or Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio on “One Life to Live”)? Let me know (tee,hee)... Your sis-in-law, Nat

February 28, 2001

Greg I really enjoy the description of Lake Park on the web page. I fondly remember (to the best of my ability, considering the shape I was in) the vistas overlooking Lake Michigan, and hot dogs on Seniors Day at the pavilion. With Chris Parr along we could clear the place out in 5 minutes. But somehow I remember the bluffs as being a bit bigger. I don’t think “eight foot bluffs” would have made such a long lasting impression. All the Best, Kurt Neuenfeldt

February 28, 2001

I had no idea there were mounds in Lake Park. Of course there’s a lot of stuff I don’t know. I don’t know anything about golf or golf tournaments or golf tournament hostesses (are they legal in Wisconsin?) or golf tournament websites, for that matter. I’m sure this must be among the best. One thing I do know is this: O’Connor and I used to steal buckets of scuff balls from the Lake Park golf hut and take them down to the lake and hit ‘em with baseball bats. Man, there’s nothing like the sound of a golf ball coming off the fat end of a Louisville Slugger. And you think John Daly has a big driver. It’s nothing like my old 32 inch Duke Snider Black Beauty. That was an awesome piece of wood. There’s at least a couple hundred balls about 200 yards out just south of the Gun Club. There’s also the time we were dropping balls off the bridge over Snake Hill and hit the guy in the convertible. Boy, he was pissed. Hey, I gotta go. Great site, Greg. Hi to Lisa. Looking forward to those old DHS pics. Dickey

February 28, 2001

Greg and Lisa, Great site! The baseball section is particularly good. I read several of the Mathew’s articles and I have to take back something I said ‘bout him. I said he wasn’t a good “clutch” hitter, well Hank said I was wrong and I will not argue with him. How do you see the Brewer’s this year. They seem to be signing some talent and keeping the kids. We’ll see I guess. Take care a and keep up the good work. Later, Pump

I note Mr. Pumper’s comments in the guestbook, and feel compelled to comment. I take great umbridge at any criticism of Saint Eddie of Mathews. Ok, so maybe he was divorced and therefore condemned to burn in hell fire. (I remember the prayers of the nuns at St. Joe’s in Grafton for everyone on the team during the ‘57 Series except St. Ed.) But I digress. He has gone the way of the Grizzlies, and the sport is poorer for it. Neuenfeldt, Vancouver

Hi Lisa, I hope this message will turn out a little better. I hope you’re being a good girl. How’s the teaching going? Are you keeping Greg in line? He needs that sometimes!! Hope to see you guys soon. Love, Stina

March 3, 2001

Greg: The website is a blast--if it wasn’t so damn cold in Milwaukee in the winter, I might even go back. Read the comments--nice to see print from people in the past. Dates for next year? I could even contribute a hostess--daughter KC lives in Chicago--I could kidnap her for the weekend. Thanks for remembering me. I’ll try to stay in touch. So what is this about Meg? surgery? Mary Kay

March 5, 2001

Hello Greg, The new and improved GPI site is dynamite. I have been browsing the upgrades day after day in order to formulate an appropriate commentary (yes, my replies often lack speediness, but my thoughts are sincere). I am especially impressed with the wide array of attractions on the site--a big high-5 to the movie and book recommendations from the experts. Thanks again for considering me to be part of the GPI experience, a spectacular event full of hype and pride. Looking forward to September 2001. Rhonda P.S. If you were hoping for a “Charlie’s Angelsesque” entrance of the hostesses this year, I am more than willing to take a course in skydiving...just a thought.

March 5, 2001

Hi Greg and Lisa! Just finished cruising the website. Good stuff. OK, I really have to juggle “up north” weekends so we can make it to the tournament this year. Who knows, I may even golf, too. Jimmy has to have someone to laugh at . . . right? Wendy

I see 377 people have already visited your website. Look out Cindy Margolis, there will soon be a new #1 website! Now, be honest Greg. How many of those 377 hits were just you logging on to see how many visitors you had? Randy W.

March 8, 2001

Dear Greg, Finally! Success! I’m able to get to your website. It’s great!! Don’t forget about our beer tasting coming up soon! Owen

March 8, 2001

Dear Randy,

The hits to the website break down this way. 327 hits are mine ( we may put a Greg-O-Meter next to the website hit counter ). 20 hits have been traced to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 10 hits are from Cindy Margolis. Three are from your brothers, and one came from a man who got lost looking for the Cindy Margolis site. The rest are from friends.

I really got to know Greg while I was doing my counseling practicum in the middle and elementary schools in spring of 1998. He impressed me from a professional standpoint that he could be as patient as he was with parents he was dealing with. He’s also got a heart as big as all outdoors. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for the people he cares about. I also enjoy the fact that he loves movies, and he’s been an avid supporter of the P.O.P.S. “Pick The Academy Award Winner” contest the high school has held the past several years. I certainly have loved the special chocolates he and Lisa send at Christmas time.

Hi Greg....I think it is marvelous that you and your friends still keep in touch with one another....one question...how many years do you intend to have the golf tournament? I am 75 years old....do you think it will go on another 25 years? Hope so......Good luck to all of the players in this years tournament, and in all of the years to come.....Mom (Lonnie Postles)

March 12, 2001

Hey Greg, I finally got to your website 5 days after our conversation. So far, what I’ve enjoyed most, is the comments from your lovely hostesses to describe YOU. They’ve really got you pegged! Could I add “bizarre” to the list? Let me know if you add any pages for “speech paths” only. I’ve got a feeling that we’d have alot to talk about. Congratulations on creating a very entertaining website. At age 50, you still keep things interesting and entertaining for those around you. Cathy Fischer

March 12, 2001

Greg, My most current American College Dictionary defines bizarre as “eccentric, singular in style, appearance or character”. I believe that about sums it up. You are your own person, and we will never find another living soul out there who is just like you. Oh yes, bizarre, but with a heart of gold! Cathy F.

March 13, 2001

Hi Greg and Lisa, Excellent web site. Brent would agree with the movie recommendation of O Brother. Unfortunately he saw that on a guy’s night out so I haven’t seen it yet. Lisa, love the section for book recommendations. Hope you keep it updated so that I can occasionally give my book club a suggestion. All for now. Annie

March 13, 2001

Hello My friends! I can tell that a lot of work and effort was put into this web site. Excellent job to all involved. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Greg. Everything he does is extravagant, long, and from the bottom of his heart. He also must be the best softball manager in the state if he could win all those championships without the best of the wilterdink boys on his team. Way to go Greg! And I know you couldn’t have done it without the support and advice from Mrs. Postles.

keep up the great work! Scooter

March 13, 2001

Hi Scooter,

Lisa and your Mom were the best fans we ever had by far, and everyone on the team knew it. And as far as your Dad goes let me say as sincerely as I can that what I owe him is beyond evaluation, and everyone on the team knows that also.

I will be out of the country so I won’t be able to see the event, but I trust that you will inform me if I have won any of those fabulous prizes! Sally Currie, aka Sarah Walters

Hi Greg, I’m finally getting around to commenting on your website. It was great even though there was not a single picture of me on it. that’s what I get for hiding from the camera!!). I saw Dean though with what else, a beer in his hand- no wonder he gave all the beers at the beer tasting a 4 or 5-he loves the stuff, even when its not his own. Dear Fellow GPLPGI enthusiasts, I wish to report an unusal physiological compulsion I’ve been experiencing recently. Lately, (I don’t know how to say this) I’ve been experiencing an unexplicable urge to, to, to....... (I’m so embarrased), to grow wings and join the rest of you (who would also have to grow wings) and fly around in a group. Have any of you been experiencing similiar feelings? I feel like the advanced-evolution embryo in “2001: A Space Odessey” going back to earth to advance the human race. Do you ever get that feeling? Dave Whiting

March 21, 2001

Hey Dave,

If you could, you know, do that advanced-evolution embryo going back to earth to advance the human race trick at the golf tournament, I’ll put you on the payroll AND make you an honorary hostess.

Greg, Oscar Night is only 24 hours away. You must be getting nervous about all the chocolate you’re going to have to shell out. You’re probably not as nervous as Steve Martin, though. I was amazed at how many entrants submitted your Oscar Poll. The website is flourishing. As far as books and movies go, I just finished Edith Wharton’s “House of Mirth” and will soon be going to the movie. Edith really had a way with words. The next book I read will be one from Lisa’s list although I haven’t decided which one yet. And I guess I’ll have to go to “Oh Brother where art thou” after reading about it on your website. I didn’t think I wanted to see it, but now I have no choice. Finally - I really can’t say that I agree with any of Geoff’s music selections. Have fun tomorrow night. Jim Schulz

Lisa, I just wanted to thank you again for thinking of me when you sent the lighthouse magnet. I have it proudly displayed on our refrigerator, right next to the magnetic “paper doll” of Michaelangelo’s David. Also, thanks to W’s interference with Northwest Airlines Mechanics’ Union, they are probably going to strike on 5/12; we leave for London on 5/16.....I loved the movie Chocolat and am rooting for it in every category it was nominated. My second favorite was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Aside from the repressed emotions, I liked the roles offered to women and the imagery. I didn’t fill out a ballot because I didn’t see every movie in all of the categories. Unlike many academy members, I can’t be an uninformed voter. Karen.

March 26, 2001

Hi Greg (& Lisa too), The Academy Awards are on as I write, of course not on my TV but I’m sure on yours. I’ve been flipping back and forth between the Lakers/Kings game and the movie ‘True Lies’. I want to be sure to catch the Jamie Lee scene. I opted not to fill out the Poll as I have only seen 1 of the movies. I didn’t see ‘Rugrats in Paris’ or ‘Recess’ on the ballot so I gave up. I thought about filling in the poll after the awards were final but then I would have to watch the show. The web site looks great and there are many interesting comments in the guest book. Feel free to give out my card to any of your friends.

Dr. Dave, Licensed Psychologist.

Hi Greg,

This is getting to be quite the encyclopedic website...at some point I suppose salsa music will be playing in the background when I log on...or are we waiting to see who wins the tournament in 2001 for the grand prize of salsa lessons with one’s favorite hostess? But I suppose that really WOULD encourage rampant cheating!! I might even cheat and pretend I played golf.

Greg and Lisa, This is too cool!!! Where are you finding the time for all of this? We’ve enjoyed browsing through all the different categories. Great picture of Dave and Lee. Dave says they are the two coolest looking dudes of the whole bunch. Next golf tournament we need a picture of the six of us; Lee, Mary, Greg, Lisa, Dave and Carol. Looking forward to reading other comments.

Hi Greg!

Yes, I am actually leaving a message in the infamous guest book. Sorry I took so long to submit my thoughts. Of course the web site is great. Very interesting and lots of great photos! Morning Greg, Want you to know I was awakened this A.M. at 3:10 with the thought it was the last day of April and I certainly wanted to remember to revisit your entertaining web site and, this time, leave a message in your guest book. Since I have never been to one of your tournaments I am not on the inside of all the “tournament humor” but did enjoy reading all of the Top Ten Lists Not To Attend the Greg Postles Golf Tournament...some of your friends could give suggestions to David or Jay(does he do top 10?). The picture gallery was fun to view and see your friends. Of course, I was able to pick out you and Lisa and maybe Toby and a far maybe on Geoff. Then, this morning I looked at the updated movie recommendations and was delighted to see a review on O Brother Where Art Thou? Jim and I agree that this movie was SO overlooked and we thought it was a great film. We were also shocked by the performance of George Clooney who did such an unusually outstanding job. The movie inspired us to come home and relook at the Odyssey to help us remember all of the similarities. Greg, thank you for sharing your new creation and I hope the “birthing pains” have proven to be well worth the rewards of giving your fiends a glimpse into the Postle life!! Thank you for all of the effort you make into staying in touch with me and my family. Enjoy your day and give a “Hello” to Lisa for me. Love, Jayne Ann

April 30, 2001

Greg, there are just too many IEP meetings and reports to write up to even THINK about golf!! You must prioritize and keep your mind focused at all times. Soon school will be out and you can play golf all summer long.

Now, if you believe any of the “poop” in the above paragraph, then we need to have a long, long talk.

Patty

Hi Greg! It’s me, Mitra! Finally I’m signing your guestbook. I really have gone to the website long before now. Initially I was very impressed with the site, it’s so clear and easy to go through, making it a very enjoyable experience, but now it’s even more inpressive you just keep adding more and more, keep up the good work. It’s good that the address is gregpostles.com because maybe eventually you’ll have so much stuff on the site that the golf tournament will become it’s own link, but maybe not since it is one of the most important annual events that you do. I really like the site and the golf tournament and being a hostess and I feel better now that I’ve signed this book because I feel like a weight has been lifted and now when I talk to you I won’t feel any guilt for not signing it. Also thanks for being so dedicated and persistent in having us hostesses leave you a message. Your persistence and enthusiasm is infectious. Oh yeah, remember when I met you at Bruegger’s and you told me how wonderful Almost Famous was, well I watched a few weeks ago and I loved it. It’s great that you can give movie recommendations through your web site, I should see them all. I’ve been writing a very long message and I’d probably say more if I didn’t have to keep writing, I’m more of a phone person ya know. Well Greg here’s your message, I hope it’s okay. I can’t wait till the next tournament and everything that goes along with it. Have an exciting day. Bye.

Hey Mr.&Mrs.P- This is Nikki Bernier. Well, after a long carpool conversation with Ms.Megan Sinnen, she has ranked the 3 choices as follows:1.Art museum 2.Planetarium 3. aquarium. Now, I have to tell you that she was in nooooo way influenced by my presence(even though we do have the same choices.)It was purely by chance(wink, wink) So, I’ll talk to you later! love, Nikki Bernier

Yes, Greg-the salsa links are very fun! Especially the footsteps descriptions. A bit clinical but one is supposed to be perfect at it, not have fun, right?

Wish I had time for more of the John Waters link but .... Do you stay up all night every night finding these links? I stay up thinking, Lisa is a SAINT!!!!! Love, Meg

I would say Happy Birthday to you, Greg! but I heard it is bad luck to say it before the actual day. So you will have to wait until the actual day. Even though I don’t always believe everything I hear, superstition won’t leave me alone. Talk to you next week. Love, Sue Presser

Happy Birthday to You!!!

Hi Greg!

I’ve been so-o-o busy lately that it’s been impossible to keep up with the things I really enjoy doing like keeping in touch with good friends. Your website provides a perfect opportunity, though, to send you birthday wishes and to let you know that I’m thinking of you.

I hope this birthday is the best one yet!

Your Fellow Moon Child, Jo Ann

Hi Greg, I have a birthday card for you here, but since we took a quick trip to Glenwood Springs and just got back, I forgot to mail it in time. (By the way, we had a good time. Glenwood has a great hot springs pool, which is absolutely huge and is like swimming in bath water and has two very long water slides. We also took a 7 1/2 mile bike ride in the canyon, which is really pretty.) Anyway, since I would be late in sending a card, I thought I could be early in sending a birthday greeting on your web site. Have a great birthday on Monday! Annie, Brent and Ryan

June 30, 2001

Dear Greg, Happy Birthday, Hope you have a wonderful day doing every thing that you love. David and I are having terrible re-entry problems trying to adjust from comig back from Italy. Were is my espresso and afternoon nap? And how does one cope without proper gnocchi or crostini? Please write are you having the golf thing this year? Love Suki

Happy Birthday, Greg! I recommend the cult classic, A Sinful Life, as a “must see” film on your special day. Keep a handkerchief ready for the late Anita Morris, and, remember, they got Doritos for YOU!

Happy Birthday Mr. Postles, Who are all these nice people saying all these nice things about you? What have you been telling them all these years. Oh well here goes: You are the greatest thing on God’s green Earth. You are the wind beneath Dave’s wings. Actually Greg, you are holding up rather well for a 51 year old ( you’ve the bald spot of a 49 year old). Seriously, Old Friend you have a great day TOBY

July 2, 2001

Greg, It’s July 2 - 51 years after one of the most momentous days in the history of the world! - Happy birthday! I know the web-site is going to be flooded with thousands of hits today, so I’ll be brief, but I was writing a letter to my mom yesterday and I was telling her about our trip to England. One of the highlights for me was a walking tour of Bath, England. It was conducted by a professor from the University there that reminded me of you so much that I had to mention it to my mom. He was brilliant and talkative and humorous and liked to dwell on minute details. If you and he started talking, I don’t think the conversation would ever end. I just wanted to let you know that I think about you even when I’m half-way around the world. Once again - Happy Birthday! Your friend from Claude-Allouez Academy, Jim. p.s. Karen says Happy Birthday, too.

Happy Birthday Greg -

I don’t have to call you Mr. Postles, do I?

I continue to be amazed that any of us have reached 51, but of course your situation is the most surprising, what with the years of IV drug use, unprotected sex with Haitians, IV use with unprotected Haitians, etc. (Thank God not everyone can read this email, huh?) Hope you have a good one, and, please, quit reading the guestbook and get out of the house to celebrate your big day. - Pat PS- Please use the following for my email: (and this goes for Nancy Doll, too, if you’re out there, babe) Pat.Currie@dha.state.wi.us

July 3, 2001

One more thing, Greg - the Second Continental Congress voted to declare independence from Mother England on July 2, 1776, so July 2nd could (should) be considered the true independence day of the U.S. In fact, John Adams thought that the day would be celebrated with pomp and circumstance and parades and fireworks. Instead, Americans celebrate today as the birth of you, which is an equally momentous event.

Chuck

July 3, 2001

Dear Greg - Happy Birthday! You are a wonderful guy - and a terrific role model for learning and risk-taking. Here is a G.K. Chesterton quote to commemorate the anniversary:

The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose, new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a man starts on the strange assumption that he has never existed before, it is quite certain that he will never exist afterward.

Have a great birth-day/month/year!

Much much love, Beth Eisendrath & Mark Foreman

July 3, 2001

Happy Birthday Greg! Fill your birthday and your summer with good music (R&B Cadets), good golf, and no home improvements. Chris’s motto is “If it’s not done by June, it won’t get done!”. A little sister-in-law birdie called me tonight to tell me that today is your birthday, Greg. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Sorry I couldn’t say it to you in person. Do hope you have had a wonderful day and are having a great summer. Think of me working hard in the district offices with no one like you to talk to. Due to “budget cuts”, for the next 6 weeks I’m on half time. That means I work 8 hours Monday and Tuesday, and 4 hours on Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday off. I think I might learn to like that. Time for me to get back to the wedding return/reply cards I’m doing for a friend. Miss seeing you every day, but I sure hope you have had a GRAND day today! Patty Wallner

Dear Greg, Happy 51st birthday!!! I hope I look as good as you when I turn 51, except for the bald head and bad knees, and no humor. We need to celebrate and remember the good ole stories. Please don’t bring up the one about the newlywed game, ” that would have to be in the _ _ _ _ Bob!!! Hopefully we have better stories then that! Hope you have a great birthday. Oh by the way it’s the 2nd of July not the 3rd like your guest book suggests. I’m mentioning it because I don’t want you to think we missed your b-day. Happy b-day, Carol and Dave

July 3, 2001

Happy Birthday Greg! This is your ‘cus Anita. This is a real cute web site. I can hear your voice as I read through what you have written for the different pages.

For the last 3 months, I have had my niece Shelly (Cindy’s daughter) and Shelly’s two girls, Alex (4 yrs) and Althea (4 mos) living with me. Its been really fun having kids around. I always wanted to be a “Disney Aunt”. I took them down to Disney World in May and we are going back in August for 2 weeks. We also have season passes to Great America so have been there three times. I am trying to make sure we get there every other weekend (to make sure I get my moneys worth).

My Dad’s estate still is not settled. We just won a court decision granting us the major 3 points of the 4 that were being disputed between us and his second wife. But she is still not done with her threats to try and make our lives more difficult. I’m thinking it will probably be another year before we can come to an agreement.

Take care and Have a Happy 51st Year!!!!!! Love, ‘Cus Anita.

Hello Greg! I wanted to wish you a very, very, very happy birthday! I hope your day was filled with lots of happiness - you deserve it! I actually went to see a movie this last week. I saw Sexy Beast! Have you seen it? It’s at the Downer Theater. I thought it was pretty good. Let me know what you thought of it if you saw the movie. Take care and I’ll talk with you soon!

Greg - You have now officially begun your second half century. Congratulations. Let us hope that you apply yourself a little more diligently these next 50 years. Let’s cut out the fascination with your Annette Funicello records and get down to business. Remember, we’ve seen your test scores and we know what you’re capable of accomplishing if you would just buckle down. And since Mr. Currie has already mentioned it, I feel free to comment: Greg, now that the unprotected Haitian IV drug thing is behind you, I think you are finally headed in the right direction. And speaking of Mr. Currie, it occurred to me, his parenthetical allusion to Ms. Doll, could give us all focus for the coming 12 months. Let’s find this wayward woman and get her in the guest book. What the hell happened to the Vantage cigarettes’ girl anyway? I lent her my Reverend Eugene McDaniels LP in the summer of ‘69 - ole Dirty Nancy liked the cut: “I’m An Outlaw, I Don’t Wear A Bra” - and then I never heard from her again. Not only that, I (along with Kurt Neuenfeldt and James T Caraway) went to Mudstock (or whatever that thing in Bethel, NY was called} that very same summer with her SDS boyfriend - one Peter Zeughauser of New Rochelle, NY - and he too seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. What happens to these people? I turn around and they’re gone. Well, enough ramblings my friend. I hope your birthday was a good one.

Bob Dickey

PS - if that Meg woman wants to lead you on and let you think that you’re her oldest male friend, fine. But just so you know - and I’m not naming names - she played “toes-ies” with others long before she ever heard your name.

Happy birthday Greg. Remember one drink is good for you. Why then is 12 bad for you??? Anyway have a great day. Ron Miswald

July 3, 2001

Hi Greg

We are having a great year. Charlie is now 12 and has hit 4 triples and two doubles already this summer. August 6, 2001 is the official end of summer for us due to Charlie’s football. That is the day he starts daily fitness for the season. The funny thing is that if I tell him to do something at home he will tell me if he doesn’t like it. At football camp the coaches scream at the kids and not one kid will dare say anything back to them, amazing. We are planning to head down to the lakefront tonight to see the fireworks, we have been there almost every year. Charlie is now a First Class scout and is on track to make Star rank by Christmas and Life Scout by next August. After that he will be working on his Eagle at thirteen year old, hopefully. In February his basketball team won the Oconomowoc City tournament for the second year in a row. He has more trophies now than I ever did and still has many more to come.

Well Happy 51st birthday and many more to come.

David, Gail and Charlie Miswald

Greg

As you know there have been Astrological profiles around for thousands of years. I did some research and found some that have been updated for the 21st century.

CANCER June 21-July 22

You are symathetic and understanding of other peoples problems. They think you are a sucker. You are always putting things off. That is why you will always be on welfare and never be worth shit.

Greg, Your gift at creating social events has given me so many opportunities to catalog our lives. The memories quickly flood my mind about not only you, but Debby, Bob, and so many of my dearest friends. In each of those moments, we are frozen in time. Sometimes at our very best, sometimes not so good. Even though I am far away in San Bernardino, the annual invitations alone are an experience all in themselves. You’re a rare breed, Greg, (Lisa, too, when you came to join in the mission)and each year that your life’s work continues, the memories continue to accumulate. Don’t ever stop. Sue Krings

July 4, 2001

Greg:

Your unique gift at creating great social events has given so many people a historical timeline of annual moments that we spent in celebrating life. Every one is easy to recall because they were crafted by you as memories in advance-- with loving care.

Just sitting here in my house today, images of Debby, Bob, Karlyn, and you, in 70’s and 80’s are forever frozen in time.

Don’t ever stop the parties. Even if I’m not there, each invitation is a gift in itself, and the day I receive it is filled with these images. Happy Birthday, Greg, now and each and every year.

Dear Greg,

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you! “Etcetera, etcetera and so forth . . .” (The King and I, Yul Brenner version). In the spirit of your Christmas cards of two (?) years ago, when you told me how much you apppreciate them, my birthday blessing includes acknowlegement of how much I enjoy your enthusiasm for life, especially movies and dancing and coming to birthday parties. Your excitement is endearing.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday and many more to come.

Love, Valerie

Happy Birthday Greg, from bill embly and Gottlieb! We played a most forgetable round of golf yesterday at Lake Park, more forgetable for me than Gottlieb. I plead jet lag, as Ann and I are just back from France, where we spent 5 days in Paris and 7 in Burgundy. I will raise a glass to your health tonight as we thank our 50 lucky stars.

Oh hi Greg, Mark here, sorry I missed your birthday...Yeah, I’ve been out on that recruiting trip for the Invi...No, not golfers, I know we talked about Arnie, but I don’t think he’s slowed down enough yet...Right, hostesses...We may have a problem with Tania this year...Yeah, she’s talking appearance fee on top of photo rights...Oh, I think high six figures would probably do it...Well, that seemed a little plush to me, but...Yeah, I sure can appreciate tradition...Okay then, well I’m having breakfast with her agent next week...Yeah, get back to you soon...Love to Lisa...until that time, Eustis, until that time...

July 7, 2001

A very belated, happy birthday to you. Talk at you more sometime, call if you ever getup north.

July 8, 2001

Hi Greg, Now that the big birthday is over, let me ask you for some help. The President has asked me to consult with Greenspan to adjust the interest rates for the North American Hemisphere and I need your help. After we finish that task, I must assist in the electrical blackout problems here in California. My problem is to discover the problems sources which is somewhat hazy in my mind. When asked about this during my recent visit to the Midwest, most people seem to think I have a handle on it, which is far from the truth. As you can see, I have been busy busy busy. Please give my sweet niece, the gracicious and always beautiful Lisa my best wishes. I mean the lady has class, minty fresh breath, wonderful hair and great fashion sense. Uncle Bob from Calif.

July 8, 2001

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, GREG. From the queen of procrastination. Actually, I was out of town and just got back and a message was left on my email informing me of your birthday. Your just a baby! Hope it was all that you wished for----- a fine day. p.s. I am sending you something this week, I PROMISE, look for it in the mail. love mary jo

July 9, 2001

Greg, Happy Belated Birthday. I’m sorry we haven’t got together for the movie I’ve talked about, it’s just hard to track my daughters down. They’re all leaving soon--Melissa for Virginia Tech (which she chose over Madison, George Washington, Mary Washington, Lawrence, Beloit, and Ripon), Michelle is going to Arizona (over George Washington, Drexel, Northeastern, UMass, Earlham, George Mason, American, Arizona State, and UW-Whitewater), and Rebecca for Venezuela (high school junior year AFS). I don’t know what I’ll do with myself. I hope you enjoyed your birthday. We appreciate being a part of the annual golf outing and I hope we see you and Lisa soon. Steve

July 11, 2001

Dear Greg, Happy Birthday!!!!! and that reminds me of a movie reccommendation: The Anniversary Party very funny! It will make you glad you and Lisa are NOT in the movie business. Also, Sexy Beast is worth seeing. On video, rent Before Night Falls (for Javier Bardem’s performance and Julien Schnabel’s direction) warning: you’ll feel like you stumbled into a gay cinema, but so what! it’s beautiful. Also, Shrek and Moulin Rouge are both terrific.

News here is that we are NOT moving to London after all, but are moving back into the mountains here. Will send change of addresss announcement eventually. Since I never receive the invitation to the golf tournament in time anyway, it won’t matter!

Greetings to Linda Postles if she reads this (also Geoff and Karen). Love and happy belated b-day, Betsy (Egner) Milligan

July 13, 2001

Hi Greg,

Great web site, and it was a pleasure meeting you and you wife Lisa yesterday at the GMO (a pale comparison to the GPI from the looks of this site). We would be honored to considered for this years outing, but please don’t feel obligated.

Best Regards, Todd A. Schlender

July 15, 2001

Greg: So sorry that I missed your 51st birhtday. I beat you to that great age by about a month. Your house over on Bay Ridge is looking really nice. I see that you have been doing a huge remodeling job with that dumpster filled to the brim. I pass the house about twice a week on my waay to the office. Hope I can make your tournament. It would be a first for me. With my kids finally out of soccer I hope this is the year. Enjoy your 52nd year. It’s a great life and ssometimes we forget about that in this busy world. Be good.

Hi Greg, Got you invitation today. I probably won’t be there, but you never know. I’d come if I still lived up there.......even if you don’t have a a live band (which I realize you can’t have, since you usually try not to spend too much on this thing).

Oh brother, where am I? Bubba

August 1, 2001

Hi Greg . . . I think you should start a Salsa Dance Club at Random Lake Middle or High School. You can use your links for salsa dance as reference. The website is looking really “tight” as Jimmy would say. Now, all you need to do is get busy on your “Welcome” section. Hang in there, Wendy

August 5, 2001

Hi, Greg. I love your website! It has so much information on it. Your golf outing looks like a lot of fun if the photos are anything to go by. Thank you for the invitation, however, I will not be able to make it. Unfortunately, my Irish students will be on their way back to Ireland that weekend. Plus, I need to learn how to play golf! One of these days I’ll get around to learning the game. As you know, the summer is a busy time here at the Irish House. Thanks again for your gift basket business. I hope your friends and relatives liked what they received. I’ll see you at Irish Fest! All the best, Megan O’Meara (megan@omearasirish.com)

I hope you have a great year! Becca

August 27, 2001

Hooray hooray hooray hooray, today today is your birthday. It’s not the beavers or the bears... Or the pickles or the pears... Not last week or yesterday - hey.... Today Today is your birthday!!

Happy big 41, Lisa! (it’s much more fun to hear this sung, but I don’t want to spoil your day)

August 27, 2001

Hi Lisa! Happy Birthday! Just wanted you to know that we are thinking about you! Hope all is well. Brent

August 27, 2001

Lisa - If I’d have known that today, August 27th, was your 41st birthday, I’d have giftwrapped all those e-mails I sent you about your Dad. So tell me, is this genealogy bug part of your midlife crises, or have you been doing it for a while? Just kidding! Have a great birthday!!! Lila White (dau. of Daniel Canadeo’s grade & high school chum)

August 28, 2001

Hi Lisa, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Gosh it’s hard for me to believe that you’re 41. You sure don’t look it. Hope you had a good birthday, even if part of it was at school. Maureen

August 28, 2001

Dear Mrs. Postles, The very happiest of birthdays to you 8-27-2001. Hmm 1960, Chevy’s had fins, IKE was still ‘da Prez, Julie was nine, and I was 12, the Braves were still in town, and Lawrence Welk played at the State Fair! It was still the Schroeder Hotel, and Ramblers were cranked out on Capitol Drive. Roses are red, violets are blue, hopefully we’ll see you before you’re 42! Ted and Julie Neitzke

August 28, 2001

Lisa,

I just wanted to wish you a very happy 41st birthday!! Pretty soon you’ll be catching up to me ha-ha!! All of the old Caddy Vista bunch will have to go out and celebrate. Let’s set a date.

Kathy Bovitz

August 28, 2001

Dear Lisa, Happy 41st birthday! Sorry we aren’t around to celebrate. However, we should have one big celebration of all the birthdays. Lets plan a weekend night in Sept. or Oct. where we celebrate your birthday, Greg’s, Mary’s, Lee’s, Dave’s and mine. Something new, something different. Hope Greg treats you now to a wonderful, well deserved birthday celebration. Remind him to take it a little easy in the bedroom. You’re still a young puppy, but he’s over the hill. Happy Birthday from us. Carol and Dave

August 28, 2001

Dear Greg and Lisa, We are so sorry that we are going to miss the golf outing. My niece is getting married the 15th, so we will be in Chippewa Falls for the weekend. Poor Lee, what will he do without Dave to golf with. You better pair him up with someone really good but also nice,(just kidding). Seriously, we are really going to miss not being able to come. We look forward to it every year. Greg in your guest log book you should enter that we had every intention of coming, but due to the wedding we were unable to come. Years later I don’t want to hear why didn’t you come to my 19th golf outing. Believe me years from now I won’t even know why - MENOPAUSE WILL STRIKE - the brain goes dead for awhile. Thanks for the invite though. We will pray for good weather. That will be our contribution. Carol

August 28, 2001

Hey Lisa! Happy 41st Birthday. Sorry that we have never been able to attend the golf outings, but we do like hearing from you. Hard to believe that our days at Madison were 20 years ago! What a couple of wild and crazy girls we were then. We haven’t been back to WI in years. Our daughter Barbara has 7 more years to go before college, so of course, we keep telling her how great Madison is. Hope you had a great birthday. Love, amy, david, barbara Burke

August 28, 2001

Happy birthday Lisa!!!!! Surprise! Hope it was great. Marlene.

I remember fondly the days we choked and coughed at Caddy Vista when the buses came. I didn’t have to go back and get a room ready and really enjoyed that. I spent the day with my daughter Kim at St. Luke’s hospital in Milwaukee as she had a hysterectomy today. I’m so glad that the boys were in school all day. She will be ok as soon as some of the pain has left her. She said that nobody told her how bad it would hurt.

August 28, 2001

Lisa, you’ve finally caught up with me! Happy Birthday today. Liza

August 28, 2001

Happy Birthday Lisa! I hope you had a great day today. Did Greg treat you well? How has your summer been? I can’t believe it’s already time to go back to school. The last time we saw you was at the Kauls’ just as school was ending. That was a great time wasn’t it? We had a great summer. We spent some time with my sister in San Diego and then they came here for a visit. It was nice to spend some quality time with family. I’m hoping to come to the golf outing but I don’t think Bob will be able to make it. It is the opening weekend for grouse hunting so he will be up at our cabin. Hope to see you soon. Love, Pat

August 28, 2001

Lisa . . . a very happy 41st birthday to you. I always liked the odd years better than the even ones, but mostly I like that years don’t say much about us . . . living does. Anyway, I agree with you 1,000% about your favorite book by Al. And, as I tell everyone . . . don’t blame me, I voted with the majority. Live long . . . and prosper. Philip Chard

August 28, 2001

Lisa, hope you had a great birthday. I especially hope your 41st year finds you living life to the fullest. May every book you read be a winner! Marsha (Poulsen)

Hi Lisa, Happy 41st Birthday. I just became a member of the “Forty Club” six weeks ago, and frankly, I don’t know what all the fuss is about. I hope this finds you and Greg well and I’m going to attempt to stop by at the Tournament, (although I hope for that yearly and the last one I attended was more than 10 years ago). But we’ll see and take care. Cathy Fischer

Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday, dear Lisa, Happy birthday to you!

Hope you have a great birthday . . . and maybe “mama” will send you a fruit basket! Talked to Dennis about her and said she’s threatened to go to a higher court so he’s kept an “active” file. Have a great birthday and week end -- and we need to plan a lunch in the near future.

Happy Birthday -- l:)k

Hi Lisa, Just wanted to say happy birthday. It is late I know, but Greg said to send it on the weekend, which made it more complicated for a woman whose brain functioning has deteriorated (sp?) since I had Ryan. Anyway, hope your birthday was a good one even though it was your first day back at work. By the way, I have a great book recommendation from both Brent and I. We both feel that it was one of the most important books we ever read. It is The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom. It is a true story set in Holland in WWII. Corrie and her family hid Jews during the war. It is an interesting and very inspiring read. Annie

September 2, 2001

Hi Lisa!

I thought I’d be one of the belated well-wishers for your birthday. Happy Belated Birthday!!

If I’m honest, though, I’d have to admit that I was, once again, on the road. In fact, I’m in Durham, NC writing this message. You were on my mind, nonetheless, and I didn’t want the weekend to pass without wishing you well. Here’s hoping you have many, many more.

Always,

Jo Ann

Could Mike Kowalabear be Mike Kowalzyk, a member of Our Gang in the Hammond Av neighborhood? I thought he was long gone from Superior like myself. The last time I heard about him he was reported as wounded in the Vietnam War. We were the best of friends growing up along with the Postles clan. I’ll have to get in touch with him. My phone number in Madison, WI is (608) 218-1303 if anyone from the 50’s wants to get in touch with me, Tim Rookey of 1421 N. 24th St until my 1974 moving day.
