Happy New Year, Greg and Lisa!! I hope that the Holiday Season was a pleasant one for you-- we’re settling into winter, here in NYC--NOW I remember why I have all those coats, scarves and hats

January 2, 2003

Greg and Lisa - Thank you very much for the wonderful Christmas card...I was enthralled to the Pole star when I received it...Thank you for thinking about me during the festive holiday season...My Christmas was truly wonderful and I hope that the both of you had a great one too...I wish you both a pleasant 2003 and look forward to the day when we can confabulate in a coffee house or possibly an alehouse if you prefer...It is my hope that we shall all be able to discuss, ponder, and philosophize the galactic truths and untruths this universe presents diurnally and unehaustively!...Be assured that I you are in my thoughts and I bid you adieu with the hope that God blesses you both with His greatest blessings He could ever possible bestow! Nick Canadeo

January 2, 2003

Hi Greg and Lisa: I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season. We did. Ben and Caroline had a lot of fun. Hope to see you soon. Movie Quiz answer: I have no clue. How about Steven Spielberg?

January 2, 2003

Greg, I was lookinig for the link to Emily’s website. Where is it? Chuck is really on top of things. He already has the archive up for 2002. WOW!!! Lisa PS. You got a lot of hits over the holiday. You and Chuck and Heather did a great job to get it ready.

January 2, 2003

Hi Greg and Lisa, I don’t know the answer to your Christmas Movie Trivia Quiz. But I would like to know your e-mail address. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope to see you on the 14 and 15 of January at the Kdgn. screening. See you then. Beverly Hinz

January 3, 2003

Hi Greg and Lisa, I was just wondering it the answer to the Christmas quiz is Steven Spielberg. Also, I will be seeing you on February 11 and 12 instead of January . They called from school today and said that the date was changed. So I will see you then. Beverly

January 7, 2003

Greg! help! I don’t have your email address. The new(?) intro to the website is awesome. My new email address is ChiChiB@mac.com Betsy

January 7, 2003

O.K. now that I’ve started I won’t be able to stop. How can I add my comments to Geoff’s music recommendations? I have one really excellent rec. which is that anyone who really loves music and is open to hearing new things should listen online to KCRW.com KCRW is an NPR affiliate in Santa Monica, CA and believe me, if it weren’t for KCRW you probably would never have heard of a lot of the artists you’re listening to (I hope) today. I happen to work (volunteer) at this station and was privileged to be in the studio (along with about six others) with Elvis Costello last mothers’ day. Also, met Ravi Shankar a couple of months ago. Beck is a regular visitor as well as Beth Orton, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Ron Sexsmith, Patty Griffin, etc. etc. Basically, you name it, every band and every singer wants to perform at KCRW and all of their performances are available from the KCRW archives at KCRW.com So, you get the picture. KCRW rocks (and rules) and anyone in the world can listen to KCRW.com Do it now. Betsy Milligan (aka Mary Egner)

Dear Greg, Can I be your West Coast correspondent? Betsy

January 29, 2003

Greg, I just looked at the new things on your website. They are very good. I wish the movie worked on my Mac at work. Oh well. I made an appt. for us with Tim Harris. I left you a message at work today. No need to call me back. Love, Lisa

February 7, 2003

Hi Greg and Lisa, Had to stop in and say hello. I was traveling last year and missed the outing. Pictures give me a good look at the fun I missed. It was fun to see picture from other years too. Toby, Mike, Tim, and of course Dave Whiting. They have aged better than me! Hopefully I’ll make it next year. Best, Nick Young PS. My new email address is Dogxed@hotmail.com.

February 11, 2003

I copied the list of Oscar nominees for you. I am disappointed this year. Too much About Schmid and Adaptation and not enough LOTR. I hope people read the guestbook and do not go to either of those movies. Blue Crush got dissed too.

February 16, 2003

Greg and Lisa - It sure was great to talk to you on Danny’s B-day. You both sound very well...I was exceedingly pleased to know that everything is quite dandy in your lives...I am still working hard at school and I still have my weekend job at Hip Cats Retrolonge, which helps me keep the bill collectors from hounding me mercilessly...If I did not work, school would no longer be an option...Have a great week, I really like your Web site...I will leave you my info on how to contact me: Nick Canadeo 234 S. March 23, 2003

hi, greg... i was thinking of our pre oc=scar conversation about enjoying ourselves and wanted to add a little clarification because i was just enjoying myself today and appreciating it. kinda like a humble enjoyment, not a loud, brash making noise “look at me i’m having fun” kind of fabrication. “It’s a Beautiful Life” made me laugh and cry at the sweetness of the father’s love. I think we should laugh and cry from our love for those we do and from the demonstration of other’s love for us...yes, even in war and maybe especially because of it. This is karen blount signing out and wishing us all sweet dreams.

Hi Greg and Lisa: I just wanted to drop you a line (waaaay overdue) and let you know how much I enjoy the website. My dad and I, and my nephew, brother-in-law and Woody) have a super time every year at your invitational. I practice all summer just so I won’t make a fool of myself come September. The hot cocoa you sent us was a real hit and very delicious. If anyone is looking for another yummy hot drink, try apple cider and Capt. Morgan spiced rum. Yum! And a great summer drink is equal parts orange juice and cranberry juice plus two shots (I like ‘em strong) of coconut rum. We call it a Hawaiian Sunset. Have a safe summer and hopefully we’ll run into each other before the GPI. ta Karen A. Gross

Hi Greg: Happy Birthday! I love your idea of celebrating a birthday for a whole month. I think you should add Anna Li’s concept of always rejoicing in your “Half Birthday” at the 6 month point (for you that would be a big post-holiday event in January.) So, from us, “Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Greeeeggggg, Happy Birthday to you.” We’d love to see you and LIsa sometime this summer. Love, Barb, Mark and Anna Li

June 28, 2003

By the way Greg, seeing as how you are getting wayyyyy up there in age :), I think I should explain something about your will. I checked with my legal counsel and according to the fine print any witness to the signing of your will is automatically in line to reap the benefits in case of, shall we say...an untimely demise. I am aware that the line of succession goes to Lisa, but that is just a mere technicality. Of course with all of these birthdays piling up like cords of wood...the wait might not be too long. Just in case, I’d advise you not to walk under any ladders or piss off too many black cats! However, as some of my “family” members Vinny and Guido like to put it...there are no accidents. Happy Birthday Greg! Leon

Happy Birthday Greg! In honor of your birthday I am sending you some sage quotes: *Nobody loves life like an old man -Sophocles *Only the young die good -Cynics Calendar *Age....is a matter of feeling, not years -George William Curtis *Age-that period of life in which we compound for the vices that we still cherish by reviling those that we no longer have the enterprise to commit. - Ambrose Bierce * If wrinkles must be written upon our brows, let them not be written upon the heart. The spirit should never grow ol -James A. Garfield * Middle age is when you have the choice of two temptations and choose the one that will get you home earlier -Anonymous * Gray hair is God’s graffiti -Bill Cosby * Youth is a disease from which we all recover -Dorothy Fuldheim * You know you’re getting old when the candles cost more than the cake. -Bob Hope * Middle age is when the best exercise is discretion -Laurence J. Greg, Just looked at my message to you. It did not line up all of the “C”apital letters for the secret message, so if you could line them up vertically, you will see. Have a good one! Kath Hmm, did I sign my name on the last message? Well it was from me if I didn’t.

June 28, 2003

Greg---- it’s my pleasure to help you celebrate another ring on your tree, and wish you many more. I’m working on a CD project called ‘A Planet Where Flowers Bloom, and Bombs Fall,’ which will combine poems with music, & thought I’d pass this recent one on to you....just imagine bluesy music in the background, with muted trumpet playing.... Harvey *** Looking Through My Father’s Eyes Early this morning, freshly awake, eyes newly opened, still in bed, I reach for the book I closed last night, a journalist’s harrowing account of the horrors he witnessed and experienced in times of war, and find the print a little fuzzy, my eyes not yet sharply focused, after the night’s dreaming, so I put my father’s glasses on, the ones he kept on a table in the living room, near his recliner, mainly to read the sports pages, cheap drugstore glasses, no prescription, just magnifying lenses, in plastic frames. Each time I do this, which means almost every morning, I have the sensation, all over again, of looking through my father’s eyes. Later in the day, after my eyes adjust, I won’t need these glasses, but when it’s still dark, and I’ve turned the reading light on, this connection with Dad literally helps me to see clearly, as many other connections with him help in many other ways: the dead assist the living constantly, though we’re usually unaware

June 28, 2003

Greg, Happy Birthday. It must be a lot of fun to celebrate a whole month. You hae the right attitude. Happy birthday for the whole month of July. Mattie

June 28, 2003

Well happy birthday big boy! I love quotes, so thats what your getting for your birthday. (just smile and say that “it’s exactly what you wanted”) “It’s never to late to be what you might have been” george eliot “If you can do it then why do it?” gertrude stein “Whenever I dwell for any length of time om my own shortcomings, they gradually begin to seem mild, harmless, rather engaging little things, not at all like the starting defects in others peoples characters” margaret halsey “If you can’t be a good example, you’ll just have to be a horrible warning”. (can’t remember who said that one. I quote it enough...just give me the credit) “I’m 21, it’s my birthday and I’m a virgin” miriam leavitt (feal free to use this as it is worth it for the shock value alone) Remember, you are only as old as you behave. Oh, by the way I was readying some of your other birthday messages. Some of the are really nice. Sorry that I am incapable of better than I have given you. However, I did notice that Mr. and Mrs. Theo. C. Neitzke III. appear to have oysters and champange every Saturday and Sunday. Is this like, uh, an open invitation for everyone? And I knew that all you teachers made the big bucks and the lunch ladies get screwed. (Let that one go, o.k.?) And while I may not be in Irland, the south of France or living on the lake with the rick teachers, I’ll still kick one back for ya! Wishing you only the best!! Miriam Leavitt

June 28, 2003

Hi Greg, Just sending an early b-day greeting, wishing you a good time on your special day. Don’t worry, many famous women on the Oprah show have said that the 50s are the best. (Hopefully, it is the same for men.) By the way, the Oprah conference was great. By complete luck, Brent got front row seats for us, and that was after he almost got the tickets online and then he got booted out of the system and had to get back in and purchase other seats. We were offered up to $5,000 (about $1,500 in cash and the rest a check) to exchange our seats for ones in the back. My friend wanted to do it, but I wouldn’t. I wanted the experience. Besides the woman might have put a stop payment on the check and I didn’t get a good feel for her anyway. Oprah was really great. She was on for 5 hours (with a 2 hour lunch in between). The visit in Seattle was great too. Anyway, all for now. Have fun. Love, Annie, Brent and Ryan

June 28, 2003

Hi, Happy Birthday -- heard you were like 60 or something this year. Holy s*%$! You are like the Dick Clark of Milwaukee. Good luck with all the crap that goes with being as old as you are. Bran, peeing like 20 times every night, Viagra, poor vision (I think Lisa has a vision problem as well - lord only knows what she sees in you), that strange tick of yours has probably gotten worse, the black jeans you wear are a year more out of style, and finally you need to get that Will put together and don’t forget how much you love me! Have a good birthday month! Ted Neitzke IV - Meg says happy birthday but does not condone the aforementioned message.

June 30, 2003

Greg: Happy Birthday! I know you and your wife approve of everything I am doing on behave of the rich, I mean poor, in America. With your support we can virtually wipe out the poor, I mean the burden on the poor. To this end I propose rounding up all the poor and sending them, instead of our innocent soldiers, into our next conquest venture. It will give them something to do. Happy Birthday, and may God bless me, I mean America. Your President, W

I’ll be sending you an old piece of memorabelia in the mail to brighten your day. Hope you’re still in the swing of things on the golf course. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG! I’ve been 53 for two weeks now and it’s not so bad. Tom Watson is 53 and look at what he’s been doing lately - he was leading after the first round of the US Open and almost won the US Senior Open. I think 53 is going to be a great year for you - some of your finest Speech Therapy work is ahead of you. But don’t think about Speech Therapy today - just enjoy the cake and all the presents from Lisa. Have a good one. - your buddy since kindergarten, Jim

July 4, 2003

I thought of all this, standing quietly in the water, feeling the sand shifting way under my toes. Then I lay back in the floating position that left my face to the sky, and shoved off. The sky wheeled over me. For an instant, as I bobbed into the main channel, I had the sensation of sliding down the vast tilted face of the continent. It was then that I felt the cold needles of the alpinnnne springs at my fingertips, and warmth of the Gulf pulling me southward. Moving with me, leaving its taste upon my mouth and spouting under me in dancing springs of sand, was the immense body of the continent itself, flowing like the river was flowing, grain by grain, mountain by mountain, down to the sea. I was streaming over ancient sea beds thrust aloft where giant reptiles had once sported; I was wearing down the face of time and trundling cloud-wreathed ranges into oblivion. I touched my margins with the delicacy of a crayfish’s antennae, and felt great fishes glide about their work. Quote from “The Flow of the River,” in “The Immense Journey,” by Loren Eiseley Greg, we wish you great knowledge, joy and ‘flow’ with life’s river. Have a wonderful birthday/ month/ year!!!! Beth Eisendrath & Mark Foreman

Oh good - I’m not the only one who is belated on the GPB (Greg Postles Birthday). Too bad that theres not another Hank Greenberg retrospective to mark the day. You’ll have to settle for a full throttle of Charlies Angels. I’m not sure what that even means in that context, but it kinda sounds dirty, doesn’t it? I hope you have a great one!!!! Mary Trew

July 6, 2003

Today being Sunday,of which we have a month of,I present my first marvel for the masters approval. the TEAR LIQUEUR of the King of the Crocodiles carefully collected on the banks of the Nile amongst the bric-a-brac of a morose medicine man On the label it is written thus: A tear on the tip ofthe tongue transforms bad words into YELLOWHAMMERS,into BLUTITS,into REDBREASTS, into BLACKBIRDS,and GOLD NUGGETS. On the label is also written: A single drop on the end of the nosetransforms great sorrows into GREAT GRAY CATS with GREEN VELVET EYES and a PALE SMILE like a CRESCENT MOON... What do you think master may I put this aside for you? Will you call them your own? Fear not,my search will continue until you have chosen one from my menu. Bla Bla of Bla Bla Bla

July 7, 2003

Greg, happy birthday. I’m in Colorado as I write this. Enjoying the mountains and wondering why I return from Colorado being what Colorado is). Could the answer be the Greg Postles annual golf outing? While I intended to wish you a happy birthday, and I am, my review of your website has led to many quesitons. First, there is no indication of which birthday this is? 49-48-47???? Second, can you really have movie link and make no mention of A Thousand Clowns or Local Hero? Third. Can you really have a music link and make no mention of Neil Young. Is that possible or is the link bad? Fourth, my attorney will be contacting your attorney who will then contact each of our respective P.R. people regarding the issue of film rights and royalties (see Gregs Movie page). Finally, dig your birthday and the month. 48 is not as old as you think and you can remain “forever young” if you listen to enough Dylan. Yours in bathroom design and live from the mountains. Michael D. Holloway

July 7, 2003

Hey, Greg! Happy Birthday! It was great to see you two extra times this year with Jeff and Therese! Have a great summer with lots of relaxation. We’ll see you for golf and fun on September 6th. Love, Rene Steven

Greg you old Lake Superior sea dog! Happy B month from yours truly and all the former gang that enjoyed endless summer days with ground-ball-Logan, home run derby, guns in the field (when you weren’t setting fire to it), and the musical talents of T Rookie playing ... well, playing himself ... Uh bah, baby, U bah!! Norm the fellow Warrior Wold.

July 11, 2003

Hi Greg - Do the people whose messages show up more than once (or twice) just like you that much more, or is it the software? Hope you had a good B-day and enjoyed the Funk Bros. Hey, Gracie (who got her driver’s license yesterday) wants the Spinal Tap DVD back, by the way, and I told her you’d have no problem since you are, sadly, watching it on your tiny TV and would want us to be watching it on our 84” wide 16:9 home theater. ;-) - Pat

Today being the second Sunday in a month of,I feel I missed the mark......NO CHROCODILE TEARS I FEAR!...let me see...Oh yes! Is the wanderlust upon you? It was I who won the raffle at The Red Planet Fair,A TICKET for a thousand and one flights on a thousand and one nights aboard a flying carpet,a velvet carpet piloted,if you will,by CAPTAIN NEMO himself!.....So,might I invite you?.....Or is your home such a magnificent marvel to behold, that you can not leave it until you grow old? I hear you possess treasures from long long ago,the Peddler of Dreams thought I should know. Oh hell,my search will continue until you select one from my menu! Bla Bla

July 20, 2003

Happy Birthday 2003, Greg (and pretty soon Lisa)!!! Thanks for all your support this year (as usual)...I hope to have tales other than woe to entertain you with in the next year...but then you might not be as likely to share wacky inner thoughts with me, Greg...and THAT would be MUCH less enjoyable...May we all 3 do the “hoppity dance” into the far future together...and do salsa twirls at the picnic one of these years. Love, Meg

July 20, 2003

BEING THE THIRD SUNDAY IN A MONTH OF:and yet to my regret you have not chosen!!!!!!!!!! WELL.....I have a clock, from the clock hangs a key,the key to a most beautiful box FULL of keys: the key to open fields bordered by a little blue boating lake and some red dancing poppies, the key to sandcastles, the rusty key to BLUEBEARDS BLACK BOX,the key to a lighthouse as large as the North Star, the key to a YELLOW SUBMARINE,....and at the bottom of this box,the key to a most magnificent DOOR,the finest of woods, shimering glass to view the Big Dipper,a doorknob that has held a thousand hands.Would this impress you, would this make your heart skip a beat? Shall I send you this DOOR fit for a king?.....I would suggest you choose soon before the new moon as The Peddler of Dreams has only one more SUNDAY and it is said to be.....THE FINAL ONE day! By now,you know who......

July 29, 2003

Dear Greg. I know we’re out of the birthday parameters here, but wanted to wish you a wonderful, belated birthday. Also, to offer our sympathies, as we hear Lake Park GC is closing for the remainder of the season. Will they make an exception in order to honor a tradition? Oh, and by the way, in one of the more unusual “it’s a small world” stories, knowing you (and through you, Lisa), is why I (Sue, not Bob) have now met my second cousin. I’ll tell you the whole, uncanny story some cold, winter day. Meanwhile, happy birthday. Sue and Bob

August 21, 2003

Greetings Greg and Lisa! I hope you’re staying cool during these dog days of summer. I guess the heat has finally caught up with us here in Wisconsin. I heard with great sadness the closing of Lake Park. What’s to become of the East side’s singular event that traditionally marks the end of summer? It has become an important bonding experience for me,Woody,my dad,my nephew and brother-in-law. Hope things are going well in your neck of the woods. warmest regards, Karen

August 26, 2003

Hi Greg and Lisa, I’m thoroughly enjoying my first trip to your highly entertaining website. I’m learning all sorts of stuff about you guys. I absolutely cannot wait to come to your golf invitational this year. It sounds like a total blast. I will come prepared with plenty of Broadway-style party music. I’m told (by a little bird we’ll call Bob) that it’s Lisa’s birthday tomorrow-so happy birthday Lisa from all of us at the Sinnen house! I’ll get my phone number at school to my dad to give to you Greg. I look forward to seeing you both soon! Brenda Sinnen

Hello from Peggy (KM 1977)! Saw your invitation at Mary Reynold’s house. Since I golf a little, she thought maybe I’d like to join the fun this weekend. Not sure yet if that’s possible. May have to travel for work. Last time I saw you two was at your wedding reception. You might remember my 4 year old son dancing with me, ballroom style. Heard you had a picture, and would love a copy. If the business trip falls through, I may just stop by to catch up on the changes in our lives. Hope you’re happy and well. Warm regards, Peggy Rooney

The menu for this year looks wonderful. I hope that later this fall, we can all get together here in Chicago...perhaps enjoy a really nice restuarant. Best wishes! Kevin Wyderka and David Kaufman

Lisa, Happy Belated Birthday (August 27th). I missed you at the golf invitational but I wanted you to know what an amazing event it was! Three words: balsamic pork chop! Lots of love, Liza Wallner

We just wanted to thank you both for the wonderful party today! We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer. Our girls were tired and needed naps (they fell asleep on the way home). The band and food was FABULOUS! We are blessed that we were invited. Thanks again! Don and Kate

Hi Lisa and Greg. I wanted to be the FIRST one to get online and thank you for the truly spectacular event. I am literally doing this first thing (OK I made one pit stop) after getting back from the drive back to Evanston. I see others have beat me to the punch, but considering the 2 hour handicap I had, driving home in Cubs/Brewers traffic, I think my response time is more than acceptable. LOVED the unique ensemble Greg picked for the day. An original choice. Sorry I didn’t get a chance to talk to the two of you more. Greg was playing night golf - what’s up with that? This was the year to top all other years. If fate says thay 2003 is the last Lake Park GPI, then you certainly went out with a bang! Congrats and thank you - Mary Trew

Dear Greg and Lisa, Thank you so much for inviting us to the golf outing. Even though we don’t golf, we had a great time. The food was terrific and the music wonderful. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Happy birthday to you Lisa, we hope that it was great even though you had to spend it at school! Thanks and blessings, Wayne and Rose Vander Velden

Hi Greg: Great party yesterday, beautiful weather and of course Lake Park is the best place to have a golf invitational and party. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer but had a great time. It was good to see you and some of our other class mates from Domincian. Jean and I had a good time. Bill and Jean Dineen

Hi Lisa, Hope your birthday was a good one and that the golf classic was a big success. I was really bummed to not be able to go. Glad at least that Sharon and Geoff made it. Hope to get out there maybe next year. Love, Annie Brent and Ryan

September 7, 2003

Greg and Lisa, I cannot thank you enough for letting me be a part of your fabulous party yesterday. I had such a wonderful time hostessing and singing, that I’m truly disappointed that I missed the first 20 events. You are two of the most kind and most generous people I have ever met. I only hope that I encounter more people like you in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Brenda Sinnen

Dear Greg and Lisa - Thank you so much for the wonderful time yesterday (September 6, 2003). This year’s golf outing was spectacular. You are both such wonderful and caring hosts, and it was a privilegeand a joy to attend the party. The food was excellent (it’s terrific every year), the weather was ideal (you ordered the perfect day) and the company was classic...what makes the Golf Outing so amazing and fun. Even Napoleon and Josephine give it “two paws up!” It was such a delight. Sorry we couldn’t spend more time talking with you. Thanks again for the magnificant time. Kevin Wyderka, David Kaufman, Napoleon and Josephine.

Greg and Lisa, Thanks for inviting us to your party. Chris and I had a great time. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to talk for more than a few minutes, and that we missed Lisa altogether. It was, as usual, a lot of fun to talk to the other guests, Mike S., Denny B, Jim C. etc, again. The entertainment, food, etc all were great. However, even if it were still half-barrel and the good company, it would be worthwhile. Nick and Chris Young

Greg and Lisa What a fabuloso party! We had a terrific time at your extravaganza! My dad wanted to stay until the very end, but i promised mom I’d get him home at a relatively decent hour. We thought the food and music were topnotch. How do you get the weather to cooperate, too? You must have an “in” with the Big Guy. Kudos to the most extraordinary host and hostess on the planet. Thanks again. Ed Gross, Woody Knurr, John Fels, Laurie Fels, Steven Fels and Karen Gross

Greetings Greg & Lisa, Just wanted to express my thanks for your most excellent gathering Saturday in Lake Park! My cousin Christine Prevetti invited me and my 2 daughters, Angie & Abby to golf with her & Dennis @ your party. We all had a fantastic time. Wish I would have found out about it 20 years earlier. I asked about making a contribution for the food but was told no. I did take copies of the petition to Downer Wine before going home. Thanks again for a great day!! Mike, Abby and Angie Prevetti!!!!!!!

September 15, 2003

Dear Lisa. Happy Birthday!!! I know it’s a little belated, but hopefully it’s been prolonged and fun. I always get a kick out of Jessie coming home from work and saying “I saw Mrs. Postles today”. It always takes me a moment to translate that into the idea that she’s seen you. Wishing you the very best of everything in this coming year. We’re sorry to have missed the golf outing - it always seems to hit on a big soccer weekend, and this time we were in Madison for a tournament there. We do want the tradition to continue, as it’ll be a must when we are no longer soccer parents. A big hug to you and Greg. Hope to see you in Sendiks, or somewhere, soon, Sue and Bob

September 15, 2003

Dear Post: Happy Birthday (it’s slightly belated - since I’ve been off line since April. But let me just tell you what a simply devine afternoon I spent in Lake Park last week. Thank you so much!

September 27, 2003

Happy (one month after your) Birthday! I’ve started working for MPS and I just have to laugh everyday at all the roadblocks to efficient service there are. Hope all is well with you and hope your birthday was wonderful! You and Greg did such a good job with the tournament. Everyone could see that it was organized with love and care. Thank you for inviting us. Love, Rose

Hi Greg and Lisa, I enjoyed your Christmas Card, and planned to send you one of ours, but we cannot compete with Katharine Hepburn! Indeed, if I obey all the rules, I miss all the fun! I agree, and, Greg, just so you know, since my retirement starting in June, I have bought two Hondas, travelled just under 10,000 miles ( driving and by Amtrak) and I have been enjoying our home since returning November 8. Grandchildren, ages 18 down to age 1, are so exhilarating and sometimes exhausting, to keep up with. I continue to try, and I am only partly through my first retirement year, have very few things crossed off my “List of Things To Do”!!! I did not expect it would be so much fun, just looking forward to each day’s adventure. ( In fact, I thought I might not have enough to do.) But I promised myself, no major committments of a job, or of further education..(there is so much I never had time to learn!)..until fall of 2004. I am having “playtime” every day, doing what I love. I think of you, and I miss the students, and some of the staff at Random, but I love my life as it is, retired, and too busy. Thanks again for the wisdom of Kate! Merry Christmas to you, Lisa, and to your amazing life partner, Greg.! Cathey K f rom Cleveland

Just read all 4 of Grandma Jewels e-mails[She doesn’t believe in e-mail usage at home] So we just read the reminder to send you a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” message, today...The day after Christmas..Or should we make this 6-7 months early for next year? Your choice.....Best regards, The Random Neitzke’s................
